New GU Brew is about electrolytes first, then carbohydrates. But carbs are key to endurance nutrition so we take them seriously. We use a 50:50 ratio of fructose (simple) and maltodextrin (complex) carbs because carbs in this combination increase the amount of energy available to muscles.
GU Brew is naturally flavored with an ultralight taste profile for great drinkability prized by hardworking athletes.
*Flavor is temporarily unavailable when unable to choose flavor.
It was served on our trail race and it works great....well done GU
This brew gives the boost you need and taste great. Its amazing and doesn't leave you cotton mouth like most other energy drinks.
Blueberry pomegranate for hot days and long workouts is the greatest. Taste isn't overpowering and no sugary mess that leaves you even more thirsty.
This is one of my favorite pre and during run drinks. Packs in about the same number of carbs as most sports drinks, without an overly sweet taste.
As an avid runner I've used several different sports drinks, and have found Electrolyte brew to be one of my favorites for taste. however i've found that the thing I like best is the fact that they have found a compact and easy way to take these when travelling in the tablet version. the packets are nice but i've found I get more on the table than the bottle. I'm also afraid of them tearing open in my bag. with the tablets, no worries with that. also the tablets are very compact and take up allot less space in luggage.
Absolutely love the light taste this stuff has, doesn't bring with it the heavy feeling other electrolyte drinks bring. Much more endurance sport based than other sport drinks, which gives it a much better "feel" while exercising. Love the lemon-lime flavor, nice and light!
When I began training for my first half marathon, I was using the other stuff that you can buy at grocery stores, I hated how strong the taste was and was not satisfied with how I felt when using it. After many recommendations from other runners, I started using Gu Brew as an electrolyte drink. I started off with the Orange drink and immediately loved the light taste of it. I also noticed that I had more energy and felt better while using it the first time. Gu brew has fueled me through 2 half marathons and 1 full marathon (not to mention the Atlanta, GA heat). I LOVE this drink and all the flavors are tasty but not overpowering!!
Tried this product out and loved it! It tastes great, too!
While the massed drink "Koolaid" on thier rides I like to fuel my body with something that burns clean and fast. GU Brew is my new go to liquid fuel. Does not upset my stomach and tastes great while having all the goods I need on a ride or run to keep my hydrated and enery strong. Thanks GU Brew
I'd have to say that I had a new experience with this electrolyte mix, and I definitely believe it helped, particularly with avoiding muscle cramps which tend to happen to me in the heat when I'm only running on water. The brew had a unique taste, which I am still thinking about, but the performance effects were noticeable.
The sports drink killer, and (possibly) my favorite GU product. A simple electrolyte drink that does everything right without trying too hard. I struggle with sweetness and viscosity, and this is just lightly sweet while having flavor and isn't syrupy. Goes in my water bottle on every long run.
After having used the typical sports drinks like Gatoraid during activities this has been an eye opener. When I started reading more on sports nutrition and realized how little electrolytes are actually in the commercial drinks and how much you really lose through sweat this was a no brainer. The extra carbs help replace some of the need for gels and chomps too.
Picked up a handful of free samples of the berry gu brew at a race expo. Have had it as replacement after longer runs. Taste is good! Did not have the heavy/sticky feeling that can be left in the mouth with other sport drinks.
I tried this product at a sprint triathlon this past weekend and I couldn't believe how great it set me up for the run, and how good I felt afterwards!
I have tried so many different high electrolyte beverages, and none have matched this product. The taste is the best I have ever had, and it keeps your energy levels higher than any other drink out there!!! Lemon lime rocks!! WAYYY better than gatorade!!
I worked at a major outdoor retailer and had access to the competitors product for almost free. I still bought GU Electrolyte Brew because of its effectiveness. Also easy on the stomach.
This is one of the best recovery tools I've found! Love the flavor
I've tried all the flavors and they're all excellent but the raspberry flavor is the best tasting electrolyte water I've ever had. It has a great taste that I crave even when I'm not running or biking.
I almost just love this stuff because it makes my water taste great. I find that I am much more likely to stay hydrated when I have to stop myself from drinking too much rather than forcing myself to drink. The added benefit of electrolytes and carbs is great as well.
I love this. I can drink this on runs and I am not thirsty again right after I put the drink away. Best one out there!
I have been using the raspberry brew for my first half marathon training and it has been great so far. Gives your body that little extra that water doesn't. I have tried the Blueberry Pomegranite but prefer the Raspberry the most out of those two.
I have been using Hammer Heed for 6 months or so and wanted to try something different. The Brew taste good! I usually make of bottle of both and put them on my bike. You should try it.
I love filling my Camel Back with Lemon lime Gu Brew when I go on a hike in the summer. Flavor delivers a delicious punch and keeps me well hydrated for long runs as well. Great product I would choose over Gatorade ANY day!
The blueberry pomegranate has just the right amount of flavor. It tastes great and doesn't make your mouth gummy. I was drinking it today while doing intervals on my trainer and it was superb.
I prefer the "Brew" to the other drinks...great taste, not to sweet like some of the others and keeps me going...lemon lime "Brew" is my go to!!!
I mix one scoop of Blueberry Pomegranate with one scoop of Tropical Fruit Roctane and it is the most heavenly experience of a lifetime. The brew by itself is so light and refreshing while maximizing my salt intake because I sweat a ton! Can't go wrong with these products.
I love this stuff, I can't stand Gatorade because it is way too sweet. This Gu Brew is awesome - not too sweet and great flavor!!
The high points of GU brew are there is more carbs and calories. The problem with nuun and gu brew electrolyte tabs, is that there isn't much but flavor and electrolytes.
If you can't stand how sweet Gatorade is and how plain the other brand flavors are, GO WITH GU! The perfect combination of taste, electrolytes and carbs makes training and racing much easier and more satisfying.
I've discovered drinking calories and supplementing with gel is the right combo to fuel me for ultra marathons. This is a great product that is easy on the stomach and even tastes great 100 miles later.
These won't gross you out with the sensation that you're guzzling sugar. Perfect refreshment for working out in the heat.
I wanted a cheaper and more green alternative to buying bottles from the grocery store. I started training to run half marathons and decided water was not going to be enough. Gu Brew has been a great supplement to my training regime. The powder mixes well with water and tastes fantastic when cold. The price can't be beat and there are great flavors to choose from. I highly recommend this product.
Finally switched over to Gu Brew and wish I had done earlier. Very light tasting, no sugary aftertaste, and perfect no matter what the weather. Wish I had changed from Gatorade a lot sooner.
I can't stand the popular brands of sports drinks b/c they are way too sweet. GU has really nailed it here, the perfect combination of flavor and sweetness. A must drink for every run / bike I do. Love it!!!
The consistant great taste that GU gives wins again with this electrolyte drink. I feel the hydration effects and increase performance when I use GU Brew
Over the years I have tried many sports drinks for energy and replacing lost sodium. I am an endurance athlete who sweats ALOT. I was introduced to Gu Brew at this year's Levi's Gran Fondo. First I thought the rest stop volunteers were making it too weak because of the light taste. Turns out I was wrong. This stuff doesn't overpower you with flavor but delivers electrolytes and some carbs. It didn't upset my stomach in the 90 degree heat and I never felt bloated like I do with some other sports drinks. Bought two flavors today and I' m tossing the remaining Accelerade I have in the pantry.
Tastes great, with a slightly sweet taste. For those who cannot stand the thought of drinking another sip of an overly sugarery sports drink, this is a great alternative to keep you going strong.
I loved this product , so easy to carry out and use, and the flaver it's very good , I recomend
Nearly every hydration drink is far too sugary to me. I was continually finding myself in need of cutting the beverage in half with more water. GU Brew is the first that I find to be a fantastic balance. As a marathoner, hydration is increasingly important. I can drink it before and during runs with no issues at all. Highly recommend trying the Blueberry Pomegranate, especially on a hot day.
What happened to Brew Electrolyte? Can I still purchase it?
Brew retains all of the attributes of the previous formula with a slight formulation tweak to improve performance.
Why GU Brew when original GU is already great?
They’re two different products, designed to work in tandem. Electrolyte Brew keeps you hydrated by replenishing the electrolytes your body sweats out during exercise. GU provides your body with energy to exercise and to maintain your effort during long workouts and events. The two products serve different, but equally important, functions. Most of our elite athletes carry both GU energy gels and Electrolyte Brew with them during training and racing.
GU Brew tastes lighter than some of the other sports drinks I’ve tried. Does this mean it’s less effective?
No! Many sports drinks on the market are full of sugary sweeteners and other unnecessary additives. Large amounts of sugar in your drink can lead to bloating in your belly. With GU Brew, we give you only the stuff you need to stay hydrated and none of the extra fluff.
How much should I drink each hour?
Approximately 24-32 ounces will do it. On hot days, you may even want to drink twice as much.
Will GU Brew recharge my body faster than GU energy gel?
Try it, every person will react differently. However, we don’t suggest you forgo eating GU or Roctane altogether. These gels pack valuable amino acid formulas that reduce fatigue and sharpen your mental state. Our sports drink was designed to work in tandem with the regular intake of GU Energy Gel and Roctane.
How long does GU Brew, once mixed into a beverage, remain stable? Does it need to be refrigerated?
Ideally GU Brew should be mixed just prior to exercise or competition. If you know you’re going to need more than one bottle of GU Brew, we suggest you carry it along in powder form and mix it with water when needed.
Should I dilute GU Brew?
No! GU Brew was specifically formulated to deliver the energy and electrolytes you need to perform your best, hour after hour.
Is it affected by heat if warmed up for use on cold days?
It is not affected by heat, but some people like the taste of hot GU Brew while others don’t.
Are there any foods or drinks to avoid while using GU Brew that would stunt or block the effectiveness of the ingredients?
All food, when taken simultaneously with GU gels or GU Brew, will diminish their powers. GU gels and GU Brew are designed to be used on an empty stomach (at least 3 hours after the last meal). This way you can keep fueling even when you’re pushing yourself to the max without worrying about slowing down to digest food.
Is GU Brew Kosher?
GU Energy Gel, Roctane, GU Brew, and GU Recovery Brew are all certified Kosher. Chomps are not.
