Huntersville, NC

I grew up playing soccer and spending lots of time outside. When I was in college I moved away from team sports and started riding my bike more often in Pisgah National Forest. Riding in Pisgah made me a very strong rider due to its elevation changes and technical trails. Since then I have had a passion for being outside and doing all kinds of different racing. My main races are Xterra Triathlons. Outside of Xterra’s I spend most my time training or doing mountain biking and trail running races. I have and continue to compete in many different types of races but seem to keep pushing towards Xterra’s as my favorite. My first Xterra was in 2014 at the USNWC, just outside of Charlotte, NC, in the pouring down rain. I ended up getting 2nd in my age group and ever since then I have been hooked. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon and always look to fill my calendar up with races every year. I am always having fun on my bike, jumping off random obstacles or hitting lines that are more fun than fast. I try not to take racing too seriously because I do not want to lose the simple enjoyment of being outside and riding bikes with friends.

Nutrition Tips

I like to crunch up a Stroopwafel into my morning breakfast on long training days and race days. It gives it more flavor and gets me ready for the day to come.
