Jeff (aka Bronco Billy) grew up a Missouri farm boy and found running organically by roaming free exploring his family’s 700-acre farm. Running to meet neighbor kids at the creek, running to grandparents’ house to score ice cream out of their deep freeze, or high-tailing it to get a tool from the shop for his dad. No matter what — he was always on the move. From a young age both his grandfather and father instilled in him a deep passion for the outdoors and the rhythm of the seasons. Running through the wild and connecting with nature is pure — primal. It’s a meditative experience. It’s a way for him to unplug from a full-time graphic design consulting business and a busy family life. In addition to running in the mountains — he somehow still finds the energy for his beautiful wife, three children, four chickens, dog, cat, organic garden, and volunteer coaching for Central Oregon Running Klub’s youth program. “While racing 100s, I’ve been clawed in the back of the head by a territorial owl, hucked a rock at a moose, chased a skunk, hurdled a marmot, and had a hair-raising face-off with a mountain lion.”
