Created for daily training and competition, GU Energy Chews pack energy-dense calories in a portable packet to help sustain energy demands of long duration activities. The 90-calorie packet contains carbohydrates to keep you fueled while delaying bonking by sparing your glycogen stores. Sodium, the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, aids in hydration by maintaining water balance. The branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, isoleucine) may reduce mental fatigue and decrease muscle damage.

These are perfect for motorcycle track days to help keep hydrated, my energy levels up and easier to digest in fast paced on off track situations. We only get small amounts of time between time on race track and these are the perfect quick supplement. While people are encountering dehydration, I have all I need in a little packet or two. I like to have an energy product with caffeine right before I start a triathlon and I tried these for the first time last weekend. Good taste and one of my best swim times! Going to try them again for next race and hopefully get same positive results.

As a complete beginner to the marathon training world, I started my refueling experimentation a bit late into my training. But when I tried Cranberry Apple Chomps, I was very impressed with the trifecta of flavor, texture, and (most importantly) energy effect. I love the chews. I take it 10-15 minutes prior to training and it sustains me for the entire hour I train. I do a weight/cardio regimen that requires alot of energy and effort to endure. The GU Chomps get me there and beyond. Great Stuff!
Samples of this was given to me at a kayak event and it was great. Shared it with friends and would love to buy it in the sample packs so we can keep them dry. The packages say dry even in down pour rain and wave splashing over the deck.
Just finished my first century ride this past weekend. Ate a chomp every 15 minutes over the course of the ride. Every now and then ate a couple. Love the flavors: watermelon and orange in particular. Felt great the entire ride. No stomach issues, easy to eat. Kept the pack tucked under my left short leg. Can't say enough good things about this product.

Love the watermelon chews. Probably the most underrated flavor available but no one else makes a chew like it. Great flavor, great nutrition, no sticky mess in your teeth after. Great chew.
I love the flavor of the new Lemon Chomps. The only issue I have is sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get them out of the package. I have had a few stick together after sitting in my jersey pocket for a while. They are well worth the little bit of trouble, however.
Love these things! I usually use them before a run of any distance and have never been disappointed. No GI issues and the energy I expect for Gu products. Great when you don't feel like gel and need something to chew on!
I tried these before a half marathon and was pleased. They gave me extra energy to start off the race with, and then I had GU energy gel later in the race-- a perfect combination!
The strawberry are the chomps are my favorite! I take 1 serving (4 chomps) about 15 minutes before my spin class or I go out running and they give me all the energy I need for my workout. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.
Peach Tea the best flavor! I like the caffeine boost! Got me through my half marathon with no issues!
So the chomps are very useful for people whose stomachs or tastebuds may not agree with the gel texture of the original Gu energy gels. They also feel like they have more substance than just a gel, and to top it off, very delicious!
I have been using gels up till now and they have been doing the trick but were rarely a pleasant experience. The chomps however are fantastic. I have some before a long endurance work out and then i will have another pack about 45 minutes in and be good for almost to a 2hr workout. On top of that the flavor is amazing and they do not leave that film on the inside of your mouth like gels can. All in all I found my new go to.
As someone who enjoys gels, I sometimes use blocks when I get tired of gels or feel like switching it up. Chomps are as good if not better than any gel block on the market. PS the flavors are like candy so keep them in a workout bag to avoid snacking on them!
So I found a new use for these for myself. Long hikes on Mountains in the White Mountains where I don't want to carry a ton of weight but like a little extra boost during the hike. These are perfect. Also tried the watermelon flavor for the first time and I think it ties my favorite of strawberry.
These are great for triathlons because they're so easy to eat on the go!
For those who don't like gels, or are looking for something in addition to them for either training runs (or competitions). Ease to eat even on the run, as well as digest. My favorites are peach & strawberry.
I tried a pack of these because they looked interesting. I had used GU Energy Gel before but never tried the Chomps. Personally, I thought they had a great flavor. I think these will be my choice for things like hiking where stopping to open the package and snack on a few isn't a problem. For eating on the go, I will probably stick with the gel however. The amount in the package is great too. I had just enough without feeling like I shouldn't finish them.
The peach tea tastes like peach tea! The watermelon tastes Like watermelon! the strawberry tastes like strawberries! the snozzberry tastes like snozzberries! Maybe not the last one, but chomps are great for sustained energy and a tasty pick me up.
Just did my Ironman and these really got me through the long hours on the bike! They gave me the energy I needed, and I actually enjoyed the snack on the ride!
These are like eating fruit snacks as a kid, except with a burst of energy needed for long endurance sports!! Delicious and they get the job done!!
Watermelon chomps are one of my favorite nutritional items to fuel with!! I literally feel like I am eating candy! The ingredients really attract me to this product. Nothing weird!!
My favorite flavors: Watermelon, Cranberry Apple, and Lemon. They help me during my long training rides and IM bike by giving me an alternative to my liquid nutrition. They are a solid alternative, but not so heavy as a bar to cause me stomach upset. Easily chewable, or they dissolve when unable to chew (like when I'm breathing hard to go up a hill). Perfect!
I love these when I'm out on the trail. A little hard to get the chomp out of the bag when it's warm out. But they hit the spot when you're riding.
LOVE THIS STUFF! Tastes great & gives me something to do on long rides to break up the monotony. Just make sure you have water to wash it down
I've used the chews a few times and have mixed feelings. They work great and taste great, but I don't live chewing while I run. Maybe I'm not coordinated enough :)
I really like these (especially the Peach Tea and Watermelon) as they make it easy to dose my calorie/caffeine intake during a ride. I also find it really easy to eat one-handed by tearing the package just open enough for one cube to be pushed out at a time. Great stuff.
These are a great alternative to energy gels for things that you want a slightly slower energy release from. I use them for Nordic skiing, where I find the immediate energy from gels to be too much and make my legs shaky. Great Product!
Love love love me some watermelon chomps. I used to love the Clif shot blocks and the chomps put the shot blocks to shame. I will say that the packaging for the shot blocks is easier to get them out when riding than the chomps.
I am a big fan of the Gu Gel and Roctane and thought I would give the Chomps a try. I bought a box of the watermelon and to me it taste like a chewy candy, which is a good thing. They are surprisingly filling. They are much easier to consume on a bike then a gel.
Love the Strawberry Chomps! Great to mix up the fuel source during tris and training. And you can control how much you need by eating the appropriate number of Chomps depending on your activity. I look forward to my next Chomp break on the bike and helps keep my nutrition on track.
I absolutely love Gu Chomps, I look forward to my runs and workouts so I can eat these delicious lil buggers :) My favorite flavor is the Watermelon, I can't wait to try the Cherry lime. They give you long lasting CLEAN energy that won't make you feel jittery. These are definitely the best, I not only enjoy them for running season, but I enjoy them for Bikini competition training. The most delectable part of my day, 5 stars across the board....
I use chomps before and during my mountain bike rides. They prevent me from bonking out (running out of energy and slowing down drastically). Every Flavor is delicious!
I bought the Cranberry-Apple package and lived up to my expectations on taste and flavor! Would definitely buy these again!

I have tried most of the flavors, but I think watermelon is my favorite. The best part is these things last! I usually only use half a pack (4 chomps) for each ride. 4 chomps is one serving, so in a pack of 16 you are getting 32 servings. I love how you can space out your intake of energy on a ride, with a gel, you just get a shot and that's it. I like to take one chomp before each strenuous climb or part of the trail.
I have tried most of the flavors and I don't think you can go wrong, so far orange has been my least favorite. I had a blueberry pomagranite the other day and it was great.

I take 1/2 a package before every training ride of 10-15 miles and every training run of 4-8 miles. I use a full package for anything above that.
The strawberry GU Chomps are so tasty! I eat some before I run and they are pretty easy to eat while running too. I even keep some at my work in case I get tired as a quick little pick me up to get me through the rest of the day.
I love the chomps. I am funny about texture (not normally a fan of gummies) when I eat and love the chomps! They are thick enough that they have a good consistency and taste like candy!!! I especially love the watermelon ones!
Love the watermelon! These are easier to chew than similar products I've tried. I love these for the bike, and that I can take my time eating them and didn't have to commit to a full gel.
These Chomps are amazing. They taste great and I love the variety of flavors. A great option for people who don't like the texture of straight up gels.
I like to use this as a pre race boost. I will eat a few just before the start and I have not bonked or had leg cramps since. My favorite is the watermelon.
I mixed these with Roctane gel during the Leadville 100. On top of 30 gels, I ate about 10 packets of Chomps. Easy to digest and taste great!

I was given the watermelon flavor for my birthday and I loved it! I can't find the chomps anywhere so I'm glad I looked on the site. These chomps are so good and easy to eat for some fuel.
I love the taste and how the Chomps keep me going through my training rides. They give me that energy boost I need to take on the next interval or climb while tasting great.
They say don't try anything new on race day. But I was desperate after swimming 1.2, biking 56 and running 6 of 13.1 miles... I grabbed a pack, ripped em open and destroyed the chomps. I found them to be easy to chew, digest and tasted great. I ran faster to get to the next aid station and grabbed some more. Well done GU Team.
These are great for your run of any distance. Easy to chew, doesn't get stuck in your teeth like some other brands, and aren't as giant as others, either! It's a must-try for any runner or athlete!
I love to take these with me on the long bike rides. They're a treat to snack on, and keep you away from the bonk. Eat one pack every 60-90 min depending on intensity, and you'll be able to keep going when the others start to fade. For whatever reason (maybe hard to chew when breathing hard?) I much prefer going with GU gels for racing, but these are for sure the go to for long rides or a pre-workout pickup.
I find chomps to be perfect! You can eat them before going out for a run without worry of an unsettled stomach. They serve well as a snack and/or just as a pick-me-up. Black Cherry is a personal favorite.
What can I say? I live on these things. They taste like candy...don't upset your stomach...top off your energy reserves...and prevent cramping on those epic rides. They are the BEST!

Do GU Energy Chews have caffeine?
The Strawberry and Black Cherry flavors have 20mg of caffeine per serving, and Raspberry has 40mg, while Blueberry Pomegranate, Orange, and Watermelon are caffeine free.
How many packets of GU Energy Chews do I need?
1 packet of Chews contains 1 serving, or 4 chews, which will provide enough fuel for 30 to 45 minutes. That said, all athletes are different and we encourage you to experiment with what works best for you. Remember to hydrate along the way!
How long do GU Energy Chews take to work?
Since Chews are semi-solid it will take a little longer than with a gel for your body to feel the effects. The nutritional benefit of Chews should hit your bloodstream within 10-15 minutes.
Is GU Chews Kosher?
GU Energy Gel, Roctane Energy Gel, GU Hydration Drink Mix, GU Hydration Drink Tabs, Roctane Energy Drink Mix, Roctane Electrolyte Capsules, and GU Recovery Drink Mix are all certified Kosher. Chews are not.
