About GU Gives
We realize the choices we make as a business matter, which is one of the foundational motivations behind the GU Gives program. In alignment with GU’s core values and our larger sustainability platform the GU Gives program is a way for GU to support our communities and the planet.
Why do we do this? Because we care about our community! To create a healthy community, we believe in promoting greater access to sport and activity, we believe in the protection of our environment and the places we play.
Every year, we support about 100 organizations through grants and product donations. Supporting these grassroots organizations helps us deepen our engagement with our community. GU Energy Labs supports charitable causes that fall into one of more of the following categories: fitness, health, environment, education, youth sports, community, nutrition, challenges athletes, global and local issues.
National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA)
The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is a 501(c)3 governing body for mountain biking in grades 9-12. NICA provides leadership, governance and program support to promote the development of interscholastic mountain biking leagues throughout the United States.
The Conservation Alliance
The Conservation Alliance’s mission is to engage outdoor businesses to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values.
GU Energy Labs supports the conservation alliance as a member company and with proceeds from Campfire S'mores Energy Gels.
Grants for Grassroots Events
Jeff and JoAnn’s journey with cancer began when their son Pablo was diagnosed with bilateral Wilms Tumor, a rare form of childhood cancer. At that moment, their life changed in ways that they couldn’t even begin to comprehend. Six days after his sixth birthday, Pablo passed, and as Jeff remembers, “on that day more than any other, our amazing community wrapped its collective arms around us—and their love inspired us. In this exchange, The Pablove Foundation was born.”
Boots to Roots 5k
“Warriors Live On and Wave Academy would like to thank GU Energy for its in-kind contribution of GU Energy Gels to support our BOOTS 2 ROOTS 5K. Your contribution helped us spread awareness and support of therapies that help veterans overcome the debilitating effects of post-traumatic stress. Both of our organizations are committed to helping veterans live healthier lives.”
Miles for Moffitt

Recycle with TerraCycle
There is nothing more deflating than seeing spent gel packets on the road or trail during a run or ride. We encourage all athletes to stash their trash, and we are proud to offer our community a way to recycle our packaging and reduce all of our impacts on the beautiful places we play.
