BEYOND THE PODIUM: REBECA’S PRIVATE IDAHO

GU Crew athletes are known for podium finishes, course records, and world championships. And Rebecca Rusch, who’s won the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, the Dirty Kanza 200, and the 24 Hour MTB World Championships, definitely fits in with our crew!

But she does a lot more than just ride her bike really fast for a long time…

This weekend, Rebecca (or Reba, as we like to call her) is bringing a few hundred of her closest friends on a tour of the beautiful and under appreciated gravel trails near her home in Ketchum, ID. Rebecca’s Private Idaho is a “gravel-strewn, grit-filled, pedal-cranking” cycling event that celebrates both the natural beauty of Idaho and the power of the cycling community as resource for positive change.

Because Reba believes that cycling is about more than just mashing pedals through beautiful mountains, she’s partnered with the World Bicycle Relief, People for Bikes, and The Wood River Bicycle Coalition to support some pretty great causes.

GU Energy is thrilled to support this event again in 2015 and hopes to help Rebecca break lasts year’s record by raising over $20,000 for these awesome cycling charities. GU Energy will be out on the course with Energy Gels, Energy Chews, GU Hydration, and GU Recovery Drink for after the race.
