FAVORITE NUTRITION HACK:
I drink a recovery drink after EVERY workout, no matter how easy or hard. It's one of the ways I transition my body and mind from training to recovering and it's one of my strategies for getting enough protein each day. I also have greek yogurt or an additional GU Roctane recovery drink right before bed after extra hard training days.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU? WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
It used to be the belief that I'm unlimited, to see what's possible. I'm still motivated by that, but after surviving a car accident that easily could have killed me, I'm motivated to experience the most awe, beauty, love, and joy this world has to offer. I get that from the feeling of moving in mountains, pushing myself to be my best, sharing the moments with amazing people, and being absolutely in awe and so grateful to be alive in wild and natural landscapes.
HOW ARE YOU DOING GOOD IN YOUR COMMUNITY?
I co-founded of Bikepacking Roots and continue to be involved in their mission by teaching free educational bikepacking webinars to lower the barriers to bikepacking. For the broader cycling community, my YouTube channel is dedicated to how-to content to teach the skills necessary to pursure adventures on a bike, start bikepacking, and refine backcountry riding skills.
I LOVE my home and community in the Tetons and I try to spend as much time here as possible; when home I organize group rides, mentor the youth, create and share routes, and teach workshops. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Mountain Bike the Tetons, my local IMBA chapter and trail advocacy nonprofit.
