The first GU Energy Gel was created by Dr. Bill Vaughan in the kitchen of his Berkeley, CA home. He set out to create something to help his daughter reach her highest potential while running ultramarathons.
Over 22 years later, GU Energy Labs is still a family owned company whose products have fueled champions to podiums and countless athletes to PRs. We are proud to make all of our Energy Gels in our Berkeley headquarters, and we hope you enjoy the tour!
