ABOUT
Terún Cycling is a non-profit organization based in Palo Alto, CA founded in 2004. The team is comprised of a men's and women's US Domestic Elite racing team, a development racing team, and cycling club. The team's foundation is built on supporting a healthy, active lifestyle; equal support for women's and men's cycling programs; promoting cycling in Northern California and beyond; and developing international-level cycling talent. The team "works hard, plays hard". Most riders manage a full time job or school alongside training, riding and racing.

FUN FACTS
The term Terrone - hence Terún in dialect - is a xenophobic Italian word to indicate the people of southern Italy. The term has been recognized as a discriminatory insult. The pizzeria is ironically called Terún to claim the territorial and cultural origins of its founders: Maico and Franco are from Calabria while Kristjan was born in Puglia. This term is now recognized as a symbol of Italian excellence in California and beyond.
NUTRITION
Our favorite GU product at the moment is "Liquid Energy" on ice for hot training days. A nutrition hack is we bring portable single-serving better-powered blenders to every race or long ride so that when we finish, we can start refuelling immediately with something like the Chocolate Smoothie flavored Roctane Protein Recovery Drink Mix.
