REFRESH REHYDRATE REPEAT

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO HYDRATION TABS WORK?

GU Hydration Drink Tabs replenish sodium, the primary electrolyte lost in sweat, which helps your body hold onto fluids better than drinking plain water alone. During exercise, you can lose over 1,000mg of sodium per hour, even more when it's hot or humid.

HOW DO I USE HYDRATION TABS?

Just drop a Tab in your water bottle, wait for the fizz and enjoy! We suggest adding more or less water until you achieve your desired flavor intensity. A good rule of thumb is to drink 16-30 ounces of liquid per hour of exercise to stay hydrated.

WHAT IS THE SWEETENER IN HYDRATION TABS?

We use Stevia, an all natural plant-based sweetener, plus cane sugar.

ARE HYDRATION TABS SAFE FOR CHILDREN?

Yes, Hydration Tabs are completely safe for children participating in exercise. Just note that Strawberry Hibiscus contains caffeine.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONSUME TOO MANY ELECTROLYTES?

The short answer is yes. The FDA has set a Daily Value for adults in the US of 2,300mg of sodium per day, but this is not taking into account the amount lost in sweat during exercise. Depending on the athlete, much more sodium may be required to maintain adequate hydration, with some athletes losing over 1,000mg of sodium per hour of exercise. We suggest supplementing with 300-800mg of sodium per hour of exercise and adjusting from there. One GU Hydration Tab contains 320mg of sodium.
