Do You Still Need Water with Liquid Energy Gel?
Yes.
Liquid Energy contains more water than Original, but it is not a hydration tool. The additional water content reduces digestive demand and improves absorption†. It does not adequately replace the fluid volume lost through sweat.
What Liquid Energy does offer is slightly more liquid when fluid access is limited (during a long climb or a fast transition) but that should not be interpreted as a substitute for adequate hydration.
